Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how florella ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and trip-planning service at florella.app (the "Service").

florella is operated by Kaito Maniwa, a sole proprietor based in Japan. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at contact@florella.app.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the Service.

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address — when you join our waitlist or sign up.
  • Trip inputs — the destination, number of days, travel dates or season, interests, and any free-text notes you enter to generate an itinerary.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data — basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate region, and how you interact with the Service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — small data files used to keep the Service working, remember your session, and, where applicable, attribute referrals (see Section 4).
  • Campaign attribution — when you arrive from one of our own posts or links, we record which campaign brought you and whether you generated an itinerary, using a random first-party identifier. This is limited to two moments (arrival and itinerary generation); we do not build a profile of your browsing or track you across other sites.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as health, religion, or government ID numbers). Please do not enter such information into trip notes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Generate and display travel itineraries based on your inputs.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Communicate with you about the Service (for example, waitlist updates), where you have asked us to.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Services

To provide the Service, we share limited information with third-party providers who process data on our behalf or whose services we integrate. These include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (e.g., our cloud hosting and database providers) — to run the Service and store your itineraries.
  • AI processing — your trip inputs are sent to an AI model provider to generate itineraries.
  • Mapping and place data (e.g., mapping/route providers) — your destination and place names may be sent to retrieve coordinates, travel times, and related information.
  • Travel booking partners and affiliate networks — when you choose to book travel (such as accommodation or transport) through a link we provide, you will be directed to the partner's own platform, which has its own privacy policy. We may receive confirmation that a booking was completed in order to operate referrals and rewards.

Each third-party provider handles your information under its own privacy policy. We share only what is necessary for the Service to function.

4. Referrals and Rewards

If we offer a referral or rewards feature, we may use cookies and account information to identify which user referred a visitor and whether a qualifying booking was completed, so that rewards can be issued correctly. We retain the minimum information needed to operate and audit this feature and to prevent fraud.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep the Service functioning, remember your preferences and session, and support referral attribution. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 8).

7. International Users

The Service is operated from Japan and may be used by visitors from around the world. If you access the Service from outside Japan, your information may be transferred to and processed in Japan and in the countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@florella.app.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete your information.
  • Unsubscribe from our emails at any time.

To make a request, email us at contact@florella.app. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
